I know it’s been a minute since we’ve posted, but life has been such a whirlwind!!

Our honeymoon was wonderful.  It was full of sight-seeing (light houses & The Wright Bros. Memorial), Mario Kart Wii, seafood, wind, and chilly beach walks.  We tried to ride our bikes, but I was afraid to ride them on the road…so our bike ride was quite short (end of our drive and back). Hopefully Matt will be done with the photos soon and we’ll have a link to his Flickr album so everyone can enjoy!

For those of you who haven’t heard yet, our wedding photos are up online!  If you would like the info & password, shoot me an email, or comment on this post, and I’ll send it to you.

Matt and I have been working very hard on our house.  We’ve been pulling clothes to give to Goodwill, un-packing bags and boxes, consolidating, re-organizing, etc…  Just last night my sweet husband cleared & consolidated all of his music stuff off of his grandfather’s desk and onto a make-shift work space so that I would have a desk for my computer )  The office looks amazing and far less cluttered now.  He’s doing a phenomenal job.  He also cleaned out the office closet, and moved a lot of stuff up to the attic.

We’re also beginning work on the THANK YOU notes.  It is overwhelming how generous everyone has been with their gifts.  It is all far more than we ever expected.

Tonight we go to Jim Clarke’s play.  It is called Coffee House Theater and it is held at our church, Christ Pres.  Apparently it is a collection of skits…Saturday Night Live style.  I’m really looking forward to it.  Those of you who were at our wedding may have met Jim handing out programs or perhaps serving your cake at the reception!

Jessica Clarke’s play is next week, and we’ll be attending that as well.  She is a WHO.  )

Philip Clarke’s big football game is this Saturday, so we’ll be packing the dog in the car and driving to Crockett park to watch him play, since this is the last game that we’ll be in town for.

All of this life is so exciting and fulfilling.  We’re so happy, and busy, but most of all happy )

The Phillie’s won last night!!  Super exciting!

I woke up this morning extra early…because Jessica Clarke made me breakfast!!  Last night I was sitting with the Clarke family and Jill made a comment that we wouldn’t see each other much over the next few days.  Jessica was disappointed because she hadn’t made me pancakes yet.  So she made them this morning, and they were DELICIOUS!  I had a whole hour to eat breakfast with the girls and chat.  It was the ABSOLUTE PERFECT way to start the wedding-long weekend.

Today family begins arriving!

I had a run-in with Kinkos last night, so I’m going to have to go back today to finish the place cards.  There’s still quite a bit to do, but I’m not worried about it.

I’m just excited!

Weather is supposed to be great, so great in fact that we’ve canceled the tent.  Now would be a great time to start praying for a beautiful rain-free day!

It’s so hard to believe that it’s here…the wedding is here.  Both of our families are coming together this weekend.  We’ve been planning this Friday/Saturday for nearly a year…and now it’s right up on us.

The closer we get the more amazed, thankful, and excited I get )

I spent some time laying in bed awake thinking about it. Stormy, who obviously didn’t care at all about my fragile emotional state, was out cold before she even hit her bed. I spent some time thinking about downgrading her from ‘Man’s best friend’ to ‘Man’s acquaintance.’

Oh, the weekend.  First, the weather: Delightful, but the temp is dropping according to Weather.com.  Last week they were saying 70 degrees.  Now it’s closer to 66.

So, on Friday, Matthew and I went to the Williamson County Clerk’s Office to secure our marriage license.  They asked for our addresses.  I gave them Matt’s since that is where I’m receiving my mail.  It was while we were reviewing our license for errors before the final printing that I realized that we had gone to such great lengths to NOT live together, and now our official marriage license says that we’ve been living together now for months.  Ughs.

Oh well, what’s an official document anyway, just a piece of paper )

…that says we’re married…in 5 days. ) )

We also went to the movies that night to see Nights in Rodanthe, since we’ll be honeymooning in Rodanthe…but it was SOLD OUT!  Crazy!  So we saw Eagle Eye instead. 1. going to a movie is highway robbery. 2. the movie was terrible. 3. you don’t get your money back for Carmike wasting hours of your life.

7 DAYS:

On Saturday, Matt and I ran a few errands in the morning, but the highlight by far was him re-teaching me to drive a stick shift in a parking lot with CARS in it.  After about 30 minutes, I was tired, sweaty, nerve racked, and had the most toned left thigh you’ve ever seen.  Ok, that last part wasn’t true, but it WAS very sore.

Matt said I did a good job.  He’s so supportive and encouraging.

That afternoon I went to Chandler’s house for the bachelorette party.  I told Chan early on that I wasn’t interested in going out to bars and getting drunk.  I was much more interested in maybe grilling out some dinner, and spending time with my local girls (3 are too far away, sad).  We had a blast!!  I was the party pooper, though because I had to leave the earliest for reason’s I’ll say in “6 Days.”  I’m so thankful for good friends )

6 DAYS:

Ok, I had to leave early because I COULD NOT MISS church on Sunday morning.  Matt and I had a meeting with an elder (we got lucky and got to chat with one of the coolest guys we’ve ever heard teach), in order to give our testimony of faith so that we can join our church!!  We’ve been going to the membership classes, learning all about what our denomination believes, TULIP, church government, ministry, spiritual gifts, family, etc…  The join date is the Sunday after we get married and we’ll already be road trippin, but we’ll get to join on the next date in December.

Our Church has been such a huge blessing to us!!  It’s the first church that I’ve been a part of that reminds me of the church family I had growing up.  It really is a family.  And the fact that Matt feels the same way is wonderful!  We love it!

We spent the afternoon wrapping gifts, making signs, writing thank-you notes, watching Batman Begins, and playing with Stormy.  We went to Vanderbilt’s campus and found a big EMPTY parking lot…it was long so I could practice accelerating and shifting in the higher gears.  Turns out my biggest problem is getting the car moving from a stop…the rest is cake ).  Funny problem to have.  So we practiced that for about 20 min. …get the car moving…stop…first gear….get the car moving…stop…first gear…(repeat).

Then I drove us home.  It was a jerky drive, and I squealed the tires, but we made it )

5 DAYS:

I get to marry this dude that I totally fell in love with in 5 days.  I finally, after almost a year of being engaged, get to be his wife.  We get to become a “we.”  For the rest of our lives )  It’s really incredible, and sort of overwhelming, to know that our whole lives, we were being shaped and formed…the we were created to eventually come together.  That there is a purpose for our lives that we couldn’t possibly accomplish alone…that now that we’re getting married…that work can be seen to completion.  It’s a bigger picture, and we get to play a part in it.  Purpose.  It’s the coolest!

I can’t wait!

Today Matt and I will drive into downtown Franklin to get our marriage license! How cool is that!

The leaves are starting to change color.  The bright reds, oranges, and yellows are beginning to peek out.  I’m so homesick for fall!!  I get that way, though.  I adore fall smells, fall movies, caramels, crunchy leaves, clear blue skies, bonfires, carving pumpkins, etc….

Matt laughed at me, when he was gone to Cedar Point last weekend, I filled the house with the Fabreeze oil sent things in all of the limited edition fall smells )  Our house stinks of “Fall Harvest Scents” now ).

Last night I fell asleep thinking about the fact that this year, I’ll carve a pumpkin with Matt for OUR house.  And this year, I won’t sit at home alone watching Young Frankenstein waiting for the trick-or-treaters who never come to show up, so I can give them candy…Matt will be there with me.  This fall, we’ll travel to Ohio to have Thanksgiving with the Pusti’s…my new family.

It all makes me so happy!
